VA Disability and Kidney Disease

There are three main requirements to obtain VA disability benefits. The first requirement is that you are diagnosed by a medical professional with a disability. Kidney disease is a disability recognized by VA. See this link for more information: VA.Gov – Veteran Kidney Disease Benefits

The second requirement is to use medical evidence to show that the disability was caused by an event or injury in service. This may arise from a presumptive condition, a secondary condition or direct service connection.

The third requirement is to establish that your kidney disease is severe enough, in terms of symptoms, to warrant payment. The key to prevailing on your kidney disease claim is to get qualified, quality medical evidence that your attorney can use to meet the legal requirements of VA.
